Dutch Cardiologist Pim van Lommel estimates from a random poll in the U.S. and Germany that about 9 million people in the U.S., about 20 million people in Europe, and about 2 million people in the U.K. have had an NDE. Most of these people have been hesitant to share their experiences until recently for fear of disbelief or even ridicule.
